The set of skills in environmental sciences gathered within the institute represents a unique opportunity to respond to the current environmental challenge. ITEM is dedicated to the research and development of innovative solutions to better manage and anticipate natural and industrial risks, and in fine to elaborate methodologies and more sustainable innovation paths for society, in connection with several of the SDGs and with a focus on the Mediterranean basin.
The ITEM institute is thus composed of 14 laboratories covering physical, natural, human, health, legal and social sciences.
