Against the backdrop of the conflict that broke out between Russia and Ukraine in February 2022, Aix-Marseille University is renewing its support for displaced students from Ukraine by opening up a dedicated university admission route.
Depending on their profile, students from Ukraine can apply to Aix-Marseille Université using different procedures
- The student's degree and place of residence determine the application tool for first-time enrolment at Aix-Marseille University.
- Being a beneficiary of Temporary Protection (TP), or in the process of obtaining it, also has an impact on entry from the Bachelor's level upwards.
Displaced students from Ukraine benefiting from temporary protection
- Students benefiting from temporary protection will be able to apply to AMU via the eCandidat platform.
- The platform will be open from April 2 to September 13, 2024.
- The platform will distinguish :
- French-speaking students, who will be able to apply for a specific course of study, within the limit of two wishes per component and within the time limits set by the component.
- non-French-speaking students who need to upgrade their French language skills, who can apply for the Diplôme Universitaire (D.U) de Français Langues Étrangères (FLE) offered by the Service Universitaire des Langues - SUL(subject to capacity).
- The following supporting documents are required:
- a valid identity card
- proof of student status: student certificate or student card from a Ukrainian higher education institution
- a residence permit: temporary protection or temporary residence permit issued or in the process of being issued.
What is temporary protection?
Since March 2022, the countries of the European Union have granted "temporary protection" status to Ukrainians fleeing their war-torn country.
This is an exceptional and automatic measure, subject to application. It enables displaced persons to benefit from harmonized rights throughout the European Union.
See the Ministry of the Interior flyer for more information in French or Ukrainian.
Financial and housing assistance
- The CROUS social service should be contacted for all requests for emergency financial aid or housing:
- by e-mail: service.social@crous-aix-marseille.fr
- by telephone: 09 72 59 65 13 or 04 42 91 30 20
CROUS grants scholarships only to students enrolled in a National Diploma (DN) and benefiting from Temporary Protection. Students enrolled in the Diplôme Universitaire (DU) de FLE can only benefit from occasional grants.
